Vineyard Gives Holiday Campaigns
In partnership with the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, we have two Vineyard Gives initiatives to announce for this holiday season.
Thanksgiving Meals and Donations
Did you know that it costs just $2.17 to provide a Thanksgiving meal and life-changing care to a family in need? This Thanksgiving, our Vineyard Henderson tribe will not only serve hot meals but also provide 2,000 hygiene kits to families at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission.
Will you join us?
- Donate: You can provide 20 meals for under $50, donate here!
- Feel free to donate any amount, every little bit helps.
- Volunteer: Wednesday, November 27, 2 – 4 pm, sign up here.
Spirit of Christmas
Our tribe’s goal for the holiday season is to extend the true Spirit of Christmas to the families who need it the most. Through this campaign, we aim to collect 5,000 gifts for children, ages 6-17, through the support of our community and business partners. Vineyard Henderson will also sponsor several families this Christmas.
There are so many ways you can help us meet our goals, and so many people in need this holiday season!
- We will be collecting donations and gifts from November 1 – December 13
- Want to get involved? Get all the details here.
- Ready to donate? You can do so directly on our giving page.
AgeWell Expo – November 9
The Vineyard Henderson tribe will attend and sponsor the AgeWell Expo! Hosted by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, at the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, this expo targets the active 50+ community.
As the coordinators explain: “This event features vital information on how to live life to the fullest after 50, featuring hundreds of local and national companies re-imagining aging. AgeWell features top experts covering a variety of topics like career, fitness, financial planning advice, health and wellness, dating, retirement, and more.”
October Event Recap
Walk to End Alzheimer’s
We lived out our Valeo Senior America’s manta of Working Hard, Having Fun, and Helping Others at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s this past month. Creating the presenting wall (with our partner, Lowe’s) was a humbling, touching, and memorable experience for our entire tribe.
Seeing so many caring and thoughtful messages at the end of this purpose-driven event helps you understand the real impact of Alzheimer’s. We were also able to see the powerful significance of organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association and events like this walk.
Thank you to everyone in the community that took part in this momentous day; we’re honored to participate.
Nicole Presenting at Touro University
We always aim to leave it better and build community; one way to accomplish this is by teaching future generations. Nicole Hanna, our Executive Director, presented on the latest updates on Dementia at Touro University to Occupational Therapy Medical Students. Nicole also gave a Virtual Dementia Training to participants, so they can understand first-hand, the effects of living with dementia. Touro University is a major medical and research university in our community, and we’re proud to be a local partner.
Happy Holidays and thank you for reading our November Newsletter!
We hope you can participate in our Holiday Campaigns and help make this Christmas and Thanksgiving better for struggling families in our community.
This Thanksgiving, we’re thankful for our Vineyard and Valeo Senior Americas tribe, our amazing Henderson community, and our local partners — the support we’ve received on our journey while creating Vineyard Henderson is amazing. Happy Thanksgiving, we wish you health and happiness!
